“翻译”:将消逝的遗产带回当代——以圆明园为例

Translating:Bringing Lost Heritage into Our Time A Closer Look at the Case of Yuanmingyuan Imperial Garden

狭义的"翻译"多指语言或文字间的转换,而广义的"翻译"可以延伸到文化上,将抽象的概念表达为更易理解的形式,促进不同文化间的有效沟通,进而实现文化的交流与传播。今年9月即将召开的第三届国际文化遗产保护与数字化论坛(CHCD2014),以"翻译:将消逝的遗产带回当代"为主题,旨在搭建一个开放的学术平台,交流文化遗产保护的前沿理论,促进文化遗产保护工作从专业领域走向公众,促进多元文化的传播和,将文化遗产事业融入到社会的方方面面。

Nowadays,unprecedented changes have taken place on the role and function of cultural heritage.Traditional coiisen'ation mode and method are challenged by the pluralistic appeals from different social groups and the technical improvement of different subjects.In addition to protecting the substance itself,exploring the cultural value of heritage,interpreting and conveying historical information and gaining widespread social identity recognition have become the urgent tasks in the present stage.In the narrow sense, 'translating' means the transformation of languages or characters.In the broad sense,the meaning of 'translating' can be extended to culture level,which aims at expressing abstract concepts in a simpler form and then achieving cultural exchanges and transmission. 'Translating Lost Heritage into Our Time ' is the theme of the coming 3rd International Symposium on Cultural Heritage Conservation and Digitization(CHCD2014),which is designed to build an open academic platform for exchanging the latest theories of cultural heritage conservation and promoting the extension of cultural heritage conservation from professional fields to the public.This article focuses on the interpretation of such a theme.
