Gu Youxiao and “Interpretting Criticism”of Yuefu

在清代初期的乐府诗批评中,为钱谦益推崇有加的顾有孝《乐府英华》一书,是一部具有代表性的著作。此书在"题解类批评"的基础上,首创了"笺释类批评",使乐府诗批评的形式领域得到了更进一步之拓展,其组织结构体系也因之更为完善。《乐府英华》中"笺释类批评"的特点,要而言之,主要表现在三个方面,即"解析乐府题旨全出己意"、"形式多种多样的小字注"、"引他书之评而不易一字"。《乐府英华》之"笺释类批评",对清代中、后期的乐府诗批评,产生了极为明显的影响。

Among all the Yuefu Criticism in early Qing Dynasty, Yuefu Essence, highly recommended by Qian Qianyi, is a representative. Based on ＂titile criticism＂, this book originates in ＂interpreting criticism＂ which diversifies the forms and perfects the organization structure system of Yuefu Criticism. Briefly, the characteristics of ＂interpreting criticism＂ show themselves as follows： ＂explaining Yuefu all to its original meaning＂, ＂colorful Xiaozi explanation＂ and ＂citing criticism from other books without changing a word＂. ＂Interpreting criticism＂ exerts great impact on Yuefu Criticism in the middle and late Qing Dynasty.
