Illich is the founder of "deschooling" thoughts and the advocate of "deschooling movement". Through his criticism of school myth as the modern religion and the alienation of education, he proposes a "d6schooling society" thoughts and builds the blueprint of "learning webs". Illich's thoughts have some enlightenment for building a learning society and implementing the life-long education, but his understanding of school education is one-sided, and his thoughts about "learning webs" are too idealistic.
