Yuan Chang and the Zunjing Pavilion of Zhongjiang Academy

袁昶在任徽宁池太广道期间,创建中江书院尊经阁,搜集图书数万卷,制定详尽的图书管理及借阅章程,孕育了近代图书馆之雏形。其在图书分类法上的创举,打破了传统四部分类的桎梏,是我国近代图书分类体系的先声。

Yuan Chang was one of the five GengZi ministers .During his tenure as chief officer of Hui -Ning-Chi-Tai-Guang area in AnHui Province , he created the Zunjing Pavilion of Zhongjiang Academy , collecting tens of thousands volumes of books ,drawing up detailed library management and lending rules ,giving birth to the modern library prototype .His pioneering work on the classification of books broken the shackle of traditional classification of the four branches ,precluded the modern library classification system .
