国外外语课程设置研究对我国大学英语教学的启示

Pedagogical Implications of Language Curriculum Development abroad for College English Teaching in China

本文在对curriculum和syllabus的概念进行界定的基础上,评述了国外语言课程设置研究的发展历史,结合国际上语言课程设置的最新研究成果对来自全国的156位大学英语教师进行了问卷调查。调查结果发现相当比例的教师对语言课程设置理论不甚了解,其教学实践距离规范的外语课程设置模式还存在较大差距。根据这一调查结果,本文从国家、学校和教师三个层面分别针对我国大学英语教学提出了一些对策和建议。

This paper attempts to clarify the two fundamental concepts--＂ eurriculum＂ and ＂syllahus＂--in Ihe field of foreign language curriculum design, and reviews the history of foreign language curriculum development coonducted ahroad. With reference to the latest language currier, lure studies we condducted a survey among 156 college English teachers in China. The findings show that a fairly large proportion of the participants are poorly acquainted with theories of foreign language curriculum design and that their leaching practice is far from what a systematic and regulated curriculum model requires. Based on the findings, the authors make suggestions on what the state, schools as well as each individual college English teacher can do to improve this situation.
