鸥外鸥是中国现代诗歌史上一位被悬搁的现代主义诗人,其在30、40年代创造了许多反映现代都市、现代人生存状况的诗歌,特别是两组分别描写香港和桂林的系列作品《港照相册》和《桂林裸体画》。这些诗作角度独特大胆,从日常之中揭示诗人对现代都市和现代文明的感悟、观照和思索,深刻反映着诗人对现代物质文明的批判和警惕,以及他对于现代人精神生活失落的关注。

Ou Waiou is a modernist poet laid in the history of modern Chinese poetry.He created many poems reflecting modern city and modern living conditions in 1930 s and 1940 s,especially the series of works'Hong Kong Photo Album'and'Guilin Nude Sketches'.These poems reveal the poet's sentiment,care and thought of the modern city and modern civilization from the daily lives,and profoundly reflect the poet's critique on modern material civilization and vigilance,as well as his concern for the lost spirit of modern life.
