《孝经》与中国国民性格养成之解读

The Book of Filial Piety and the Development of Chinese National Characters

《孝经》是儒家十三经之一,虽然字数是其中最少的一篇,但自其问世以来,《孝经》所倡导的孝道观就对中国国民人格修养、伦理道德等的形成产生了深刻的影响,逐渐渗透到中国国民的灵魂和血液之中,并铸就了中国国民尊老爱幼、宽厚仁慈、重礼守法、尊君爱国等鲜明的民族性格特点;但《孝经》一味地提倡尚古守旧、泯灭个人权利的思想也对民族性格的养成产生了不利的一面。

The Book of Filial Piety was one of the 13 Confucian classics.Though the words in it were the least one,the concept of filial piety it advocated has had a profound influence on the formation of Chinese national personality and moral principles which gradually became the Chinese national soul and national character of respecting the old and cherishing the young,being benevolent;valuting etiquette and observing the laws,respecting the emperor and loving the motherland.But on the other hand,the Book of Filial Piety has its negative role for the Chinese national characters by blindly advocating conservatism,sticking to old ways,and suppressing the personal rights.
