摘要
瘦素(Lep)是一种脂肪源性激素,调节体内能量存储和利用。Lep与下丘脑Lep受体结合,发挥抑制食欲和降低体重的生理作用。Lep抵抗是肥胖的主要危险因素。Lep的神经保护作用和影响大脑认知功能广受关注。Lep和Lep类似物有望成为神经系统保护剂,此外,Lep可促进认知过程,可能延缓甚至部分逆转阿尔茨海默病或衰老所致的记忆丧失。
Leptin (Lep) , an adipose-derived hormone, exerts important roles in the body mainly on energy storage and availability. The physiological effects of Lep controlUng the body weight and suppressing appetite are mediated by Lep receptors in the hypothalamus. Since leptin-resistance is the primary risk factor for obesity, the interest on its effect on neuroprotection and brain cognition is increasing. Thus, Lep and Lep analogs now deserve systematic exploration as a protector in the nervous system. Moreover, Lep might promote cognitive process that may delay or even partially reverse Alzheimer's disease or aging-related memory loss.
