Research on ESP Teaching in Local Colleges and Universities Based on Cultivation of Applied Talents

ESP即专门用途英语是指与某一种特定职业或学科相关的英语,其教学是地方高等院校培养应用型人才的一条重要途径。以民航飞行员专业英语教学为例,开展ESP教学要在制订学历教育与职业教育相统一的人才培养方案基础上,构建基于专业和就业需求的课程体系,选择基于特殊语域的教学内容,使用真实性为原则的教学方法。

ESP, English for special purpose, is English related to a specific occupation or subject, while its teaching is one of the important ways of cultivating applied talents for local colleges and universities. Taking civil aviation pilot professional English teaching as an example, ESP teaching should be based on formulating the talent training scheme united with academic and vocational education, constructing the curriculum system on professional and employment demands, choosing teaching contents on the special language register, and adopting teaching methods on authenticity principle.
