The Interiminal Space Between Translation and New Discourse——A Research on Tang Junyi's Aiqing zhi fuyin as a Pseudotranslation

Aiqing zhifuyin, written by contemporary philosopher Tang Junyi, was first published in the 1940s in the form of translation. This essay, by way of investigating into the tenets of Tang＇ s academic undertakings as well as Aiqing zhifuyin＇ s content and writing style, shows that it is a book authored by Tang himself instead of a translator. The essay then discusses the reason why Tang chose translation as the form of publication, which consists mainly in two factors--his intent to safeguard Confucian traditions and his consideration of the book＇ s reception among target readers.
