Gastrochilus somai （Hayata）Hayata,a newly recorded species from Fujian,China's Mainland,was described and illustrated.The species was discovered in Fujian Province,providing a good material to test the taxonomy be-tween G .somai （Hayata）Hayata and G .japonicas （Makino）Schltr.,and the floristic relationship between China's Mainland and nearby islands.
