Formation mechanism and characteristics of passivation film for metal were generally described. The app-lication situation of trivalent chromium passivation technology at home and abroad were also introduced briefly. A kind of high-efficiency environmental friendly passivation treatment method for stainless steel was introduced. Development actuality about chromium - free pasivation technology was summarized.
