Sphingomyelin metabolism and atherosclerosis

摘要 动脉粥样硬化是发达国家的主要死亡原因。虽然目前已知的危险因素有一定的预测价值,但动脉粥样硬化发展变化的主要部分还不是很清楚。找到新的方法,对更全面地认识及治疗这个疾病是很重要的。对鞘磷脂代谢的探索就是这样一种方法。最近的研究表明鞘磷脂在动脉粥样硬化的发展过程中发挥了重要的作用。该文主要对该领域的一些主要发现进行总结。 Atherosclerosis is the major cause of mortality in the developed countries. Although presently known risk factors have some predictive value for the disease, a major part of the variability in this process remains unex- plained. It is extremely important to find new approaches for better understanding of the disease, and for treating it. Exploration of the sphingomyelin metabolism is one of these approaches. Recent researches indicated that sphingomyelin play important roles in the development of atherosclerosis. In this review, we summarized the major findings in the field.
