Relationship between index and ring fingers length and stature and traits of digit ratio of Yao nationality students in middle and primary schools in Guangxi

目的：探讨广西瑶族中小学生示指和环指长与身高的关系及指长比特点.方法：随机选取1 061例身体健康的广西瑶族中小学生为研究对象.在知情同意的条件下,采用直接测量法测量左右手示指和环指长以及身高.按年龄和性别分组,计算各组示指和环指长以及身高的平均值,探讨各组右手示指和环指长与身高的关系.计算示指长/环指长,探讨其性别差异及与年龄的关系.结果：广西瑶族中小学生左右手的发育具有对称性,而环指比同侧示指长.除15～岁组女生右手示指长与身高之间无线性相关性外,其他组学生右手示指和环指长与身高呈正直线相关,并得出了广西瑶族中小学生由右手示指和环指长推算身高的简单线性回归方程.示指长/环指长的性别差异无统计学意义,与年龄的相关系数也无统计学意义.结论：广西瑶族中小学生可通过示指和环指长推算身高.示指长/环指长性别差异不明显,与年龄关系不密切.

Objective：To study the relationship between index and ring fingers length and stature and the traits of digit ratio of Yao national students in middle and primary schools in Guangxi.Methods：The index and ring fingers length and stature of 1 061 healthy Yao nationality students in middle and primary schools in Guangxi were measured by direct measurement with informed consent.All the individuals were allocated to 20 groups according to age and sex.The mean values of finger length and stature of all groups were calculated.And the relationship between right index and ring fingers length and stature of groups was studied.The index-to-ring finger length ratios were calculated and then the sex difference and the relationship between the ratios and age were investigated.Results：The left and right hands of Yao nationality students in middle and primary schools in Guangxi had a symmetry,but the ring finger was longer than the index finger on the same hand.There was a positive correlation between the right index and ring fingers length and stature in all groups except female group aged 15 years.And simple linear regression equations were calculated between right index and ring fingers length and stature of each group.The sex difference was not statistically significant and the correlation coefficients between index-to-ring finger length ratios and age were not statistically significant either.Conclusion：The stature of Yao nationality students in middle and primary schools in Guangxi can be calculated through index and ring fingers length.There is no significant sex difference in index-to-ring finger length ratio,and the ratio is not related to age.
