D. H Lawrence is an outstanding British novelist, poet, playwright and painter in the 20th century. His Return to Bestwood is a prose with a strong nostalgia. In it Lawrence shows his eagerness to return home and his longing for his hometown,at the same time,he voices his grief of returning home. He feels unfamiliar and sad because of the changes of natural landscape and human nature in his hometown, which urges him to meditate on the meaning of life so that an awareness of healthy life can be wakened.
