China Daily,founded in Hong Kong in 1900,was the first newspaper of the Chinese bourgeois revolutionaries and was called the'progenitor'of revolution. The newspaper played an important role in spreading democratic revolutionary ideas and enlightening the masses,and made invaluable contributions to the dernocratic revolution. Also,China Daily profoundly influenced the later development of the Chinese newspaper industry in format and content setup.
