Artistic Narrative of Updike's “Rabbit is Rich”

"兔子系列"是约翰·厄普代克的代表作,1981年出版的《兔子富了》是这一系列的第三部,经过前两部的发酵,厄普代克最终获得了普利策奖、美国图书奖和全国书评协会奖。通过对叙事视角、现代主义写作手法,以及幽默手法的运用,使《兔子富了》的叙事艺术显得更加丰满。

＂Rabbit Series＂ are known as John Updike＇ s masterpiece. Published in 1981, ＂Rabbit Is Rich＂ was the third part of this series. With the first two fermentations, ＂Rabbit is Rich＂ helped Updike finally deserve the awards of the highest literary honor in the United States --Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award and the American Book Review Association Awards. In this work, the decadent image of Harry in the previous two works changed as the backbone of American society - the middle class. Middleaged Harry was delicately portrayed by Updike. From the narrative perspective, symbolism and the use of humor, this article throws light on the artistic narrative of ＂Rabbit Is Rich＂ as a valuable artwork.
