It is widely accepted that Suzhou Yi Garden was built on the site of Wu Kuan's Fu Garden. It issaid that the Minister Lane nearby was named after Wu Kuan, who was the minister in the Ming Dynasty, and that the Bamboo-grove Pavilion is the same name written on the plaque of the pavilion of Wu Kuan's FuGarden. However, the author believes that the widely accepted views with its supporting documents areungrounded. In fact, Wu Kuan did not build Fu Garden or residence on the site of Yi Garden or nearby, and the Bamboo-grove Pavilion was not in Suzhou at all.
