A Study of Subtitling from the Perspective of Semiotics

符号学是研究符号的科学,世界是符号的世界,而意义来自符号之间的关系。影视艺术是一个多符号系统的艺术形式,观众对意义的获取是多渠道的,既有视觉符号,听觉符号,又有文本符号。因此,从符号学角度研究电影字幕是从本源出发,全方位揭示符号意义的本质,对影视字幕翻译实践具有指导意义。

Semiotics is a theory of the science of signs.According to semiotics,the world is a world of signs,and the meaning derives from the relations of signs.Filmic art is a poly-semiotic system of art form composed of visual signs,audio signs and verbal signs.Viewers get the meaning of signs through multiple channels.This paper aims to discover the essence of the meaning through the study of audio-visual translation from semiotic perspective,and hopefully it will instruct the AV translation in return.
