On the Necessity of English Major Transformation with the Foreign Language Department of Yulin University as An Example

随着人口增长放缓,高等院校弱势专业的招生和发展瓶颈日益显著;以陕西省榆林学院外语系近几年的具体情况为例,试图探索在这一人口变化趋势影响之下,地方院校应该如何以复合型英语专业建设为手段应对和破解发展困局。

With the population growth slowing down, the enrollment and the bottleneck to development of universities are becoming increasingly obvious. Based on the specific situation of the Foreign Language Department of Yulin University as an example, this paper tries to find a solution to tackle the problem of the English Department＇s development by establishing a interdisciplinary English major.
