摘要
专门用途英语(ESP)是一种以学习者为中心并以满足学习者需求为目标的英语教学理念,这也是医学院校英语教学改革的方向。为迎接转型时期带来的挑战和机遇,英语教师应遵循专门用途英语的课程特点和教学方法,在医学生学习需求分析的基础上,教师通过开设医学学术用途英语系列课程(EMAP)来实现角色转变,从而有效提高医学教育质量和医学生的英语应用技能。
English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is a learner - centered teaching approach tailored to the specific needs of learners, which re- presents the orientation of English teaching reform at medical universities. To meet the challenges and opportunities brought forth by the transition, English teachers of medical universities are expected to be fully aware of the characteristics and teaching methodology of ESP courses. Based on needs analysis of medical students, English teachers can successfully transform their roles through English courses for medical academic purposes (EMAP), so as to effectively develop students'English proficiency and improve the quality of medical education.
