Nineteenth-Century American poet Emily Dickinson never has a job when she was alive, even the job of a professional writer.Given the tide of educational reform and women right movement in the second half of nineteenth century, Dickinson could have taken the advantage of becoming professional woman, whereas she chose to write secretly at home, turned down all her chances.Possible reasons--her family pressure, conservative view of women issues, and her sacred definition of poet--all made her impossible to become a professional writer. No matter what, the working-at-home Dickinson left us great fortune as well.
