摘要
本研究通过访谈对参加学术英语阅读与讨论课程学习的博士生进行调查,并利用扎根理论的方法对调查数据进行分析。研究结果表明,学术英语教学可以充分提高博士生英语学习动机,学术英语教学应该根据学生的实际循序渐进,学生能使用一些学术英语阅读策略,教学中教师的角色应该是语言运用的帮助者和指导者。
This research investigated the Ph.D students taking part in the course of EAP Reading and Discussion by way of interview.The grounded theory process was used to analyze the data collected.The findings indicated that EAP teaching could enhance the English learning motivation of Ph.D students.EAP teaching should be conducted gradually to suit the characteristics of students.Ph.D students may apply some strategies in their EAP reading.The key roles a teacher in EAP teaching should play are language facilitator and guider.
