摘要 本文对大学英语教材语料库中的词块进行了研究,结果表明,就词块长度而言,词块越长出现的频数越低;就词块的语法功能而言,动词类、名词类和介词类词块远远多于其它类别的词块;就词块的语篇、语用功能而言,指称词块数量最多,立场词块次之,组织语篇的词块最少。 With the development of corpus linguistics and the establishment of different kinds of corpus, a corpus-based behavioral profile approach has been seen as a very scientific and efficient method in language research and teaching. Based on COCA corpus, this paper tries to discuss how to study near-synonymous verbs with "finish" ;'complete" and "accomplish" as examples. Based on the statistics provided by COCA corpus, this paper studies the differences among the three synonymous verbs, namely “finish”,“complete” and “accomplish” from the perspectives of frequency, stylistics, collocation and semantic prosody. The following questions will be answered in this paper: Are the three verbs interchangeable? If they are, when can they interchange? The purpose of this study is that English learners can learn the near-synonyms better through corpus-based means.
