Strong economic and technological forces are creating a highly interdependent world economy, in which Multinational Companies (MNCs) are playing an important role. Many large MNCs are in control of more economic resources than most African countries. In the process of FDI inflows to Africa, the dominant motive for MNCs is to get more profits, while African countries are seeking to incorporate foreign investment into their long - term development strategies. Since both sides have different interests, conflicts of interests in many areas seem inevitable when conducting investment activities. If both sides have the same willingness to transfer potential interest demands into real benefits, building long - term cooperation will be an important starting point. In practice, Mrican governments hope to maximize the benefits from MNCs' investment for their sustainable economic development and minimize the potential negative impacts. As for MNCs, in addition to pursuing their own interests, they should also take into account the interest demands of local governments and native citizens, in order to obtain a long - term positive return on investment in Africa.
