“Political Correctness”and American Cultural Marxism

"政治正确"是美国文化马克思主义的一个关键词,指在学术观点、政治、社会生活中遵循扶持弱势和边缘群体如黑人、妇女和同性恋,尊重各少数族裔文化即多元文化主义的"总路线"。"政治正确"在美国开始于1960年代,是左派运动的产物,自1980年代以来逐渐成为美国社会的主流话语。"政治正确"在美国曾引起社会和学界的广泛争议,它一方面在一定程度上起到了坚守社会道德底线的作用,另一方面也反映了美国文化马克思主义从政治实践向文化领域的退守。

'Political correctness',one of the key terms of American Cultural Marxism,refers to a'general route'in academia,politics and social life of supporting the weaker and marginal groups such as African American,women and homosexuals,and respecting the cultures of minority groups( i. e. multiculturalism). 'Political correctness'emerged as a product of New Left Movement in 1960 s,and gradually became the mainstream discourse since 1980. It once aroused a lot of controversy in both academia and society. On one hand,'political correctness'somewhat serves as the bottom line of social morality; on the other hand,it shows the retreat of American Cultural Marxism from political practice to cultural domain.
