Based on the truth that art comes from life ,combined with the creation experience of sketching ,this paper elaborates on the sketch understanding in the animation role modeling .In the modeling and creation of animation roles ,the animation creators seek the direction and the inspiration from sketch training .By means of good sketch base and creation accumulation ,the animation creators can form the desire and the demand of expression gradually .Capturing the unique images in the life from the perspective of the sketching idea is one creation channel of animation role modeling .
