Deviations of Language Use in China's Original Network Games and Their English Translation

在中国原创网游在国际市场的影响力不断增长之际,原创网游的翻译却一直未能引起网游开发企业的足够重视,成为影响与制约这些原创网游的商业价值和文化内涵的不利因素。本文欲从语言变异入手,剖析和探究这种网络语言在语音、词汇、语义和句法四个方面的语言变异现象,提出语言变异的英译原则和策略,以期为中国原创网游的英译实践带来一些有益的启示。

With the increasing of the impact of China’s original network games in international market, the translation of the o.riginal network games has not been paid enough attention to by the developing enterprises for the network games, which becomesan adverse factor to affect and limit the commercial value and cultural connotation of these original network games. This paper ana.lyzes and studies the language phenomenon from such four aspects as the phonetic, lexical, semantic and syntactic deviations oflanguage use based on language deviation, and proposes the feasible English translation principles and strategies on such devia.tions so that some positive enlightenments are provided for the future English translation practices for China’s original networkgames.
