Bright Prospects for Geological Work in Promoting Ecological Progress

生态文明建设已成为我国今后发展的重要方向、重点领域和重大任务,而地质工作在生态文明建设中大有可为。以生态文明建设为主导,树立"打基础、当先锋",尊重自然、顺应自然、保护自然及发展生态经济和新兴产业的理念。着力发展新兴产业,以地质公园为载体,大力发展地质旅游产业;走勘查开发一体化之路,大力发展浅层地热能产业;推广农业地质调查成果,大力发展特色农业和绿色农业;发挥地质专业优势,开展生态修复。应通过弘扬协作精神、建立全面目标考核机制、继续教育和全员培训机制、表彰激励机制等措施激励地质工作者在生态文明建设中大显身手。

Promoting ecological progress has become an important direction, a key field, and a major task for the future development of China. And geological work will have a bright prospect in promoting ecological progress. This paper points out that promoting ecological progress must be the focus of our efforts to set up the notion which is characterized by ＂laying the foundation, and becoming pioneer＂, respect for nature, conforming to nature, natural protection, and developing ecological economy and emerging industry. This means that we should strive to develop emerging industry, devote major efforts to developing geological tourism industry with Geological Park as the carrier. Meanwhile, we should pave a path of combining exploration and development, and make great efforts to developing shallow geothermal energy. We must popularize agro-geologic investigation results, develop characteristic agriculture and green agriculture, give full play to the advantages of geology, and carry out ecological restoration. In addition, some measures should be adopted to encourage geologists to give full play to their abilities. These mechanisms include a mechanism to assess target, a mechanism for continuing education and training all workers and staff, and a mechanism for commendation and encouragement.
