Analysis on Women of Upper Strata and Politics in Early Tang Dynasty

唐朝前期空前繁荣,社会环境相对宽松,上层女子可以凭借其特殊社会地位和卓越才干登上政治舞台,参与社会管理,涌现出诸如武则天、平阳公主、太平公主等一系列女政治家和女阴谋家,在政治决策的制定及社会稳定方面作出卓越贡献,在中国古代历史上留下了浓墨重彩的一笔,是封建社会女性群体中非常重要的一个群体。

During the early stage of the Tang Dynasty, the social environment was not harsh to women, so women of upper strata could involve themselves into political affairs and social administration because of their special social strata and remarkable ability. There were a large number of such excellent women, for example, Wu Ze-tian, Princess Pingyang, Princess Taiping, who are politics as well as conspirators. They are a very important group of the feudal society, leaving heavy footprints on the sands of time by making outstanding contribu- tions in policy making and social stabilization.
