On August 27,the Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao Football Club bid farewell to its chances at winning the AFC Champions League.Although I couldn't see the expression on Evergrande Real Estate Group Chairman Xu Jiaying's face from all the way across the stadium where 1 was sitting,from what 1 heard later he was not happy at all.It's understandable,as this was the most important game for the club since Xu convinced Taobao's Jack Ma to become a part owner.Of course Xu has never really cared for what other people may think of his plans.Take his decision to diversify Evergrande Real Estate's development.As with many of his ideas in the past,he pushed his idea forward with lightning speed and his typical flair for the dramatic: 'If Evergrande doesn't diversify it will miss out on a lot of opportunities.'
