On August 29,a huge conference was held in the Shenzhen Intercontinental Hotel where the Wanda Group,Baidu and Tencent announced that they were joining together to establish the Wanda e-commerce Company.Initial investment into the company has reached5 billion yuan,with Wanda owning 70%of the venture,and Baidu and Tencent each owning15%.Three of China's richest businessmen-Wanda Chairman Wang Jianlin,Baidu Chairman and CEO Li Yanhong and Tencent Chairman of the Board and CEO Pony Ma-attended the signing ceremony.Within China's fairly new O2 O industry,having access to the resources of internet giants such as Baidu and Tencent is no guarantee of success.If the joint venture between these three giants wants to succeed it will also need a healthy business model and a great deal of innovation.
