不同学者对隐喻能力进行了不同的定义和研究,隐喻能力各要素和各要素之间有着内在的结构模型。隐喻能力结构要素包括静态隐喻知识和动态隐喻能力。在动态隐喻能力中,辨认、推断、解释、理解、评价、运用和创新等要素构成了隐喻能力的层级结构。

Different researchers did research on and gave different definitions for metaphorical competence. There is an inner structure model among the components of metaphorical competence. The structural components of metaphorical competence include static metaphorical knowledge and dynamic metaphorical competence. In dynamic metaphorical competence, the components such as identification, inference, interpretation, understanding, evaluation, application and innovation form a structural hierarchy.
