A Study of Rice-planting Vocabulary Recorded in Ancient Bashu Chronicles

人类语言在生产劳动的过程中产生,并随着生产力的发展而发展,有什么样的生产水平就会有什么样的语言。四川悠久的稻作生产历史、巴蜀农人先进的稻作生产经验,反映在语言上便形成丰富多彩而独具特色的稻作词汇。文中搜罗了散见于巴蜀旧志中富有地方特色的稻作词语,分类诠释其意义及文化内涵,并着力于在更深层面上揭示四川稻作文化的特质和风格。

The language of humankind has come into being in their work, and evolved with the progress of productivity. Social productivity plays a crucial role on language evolution. The long rice-planting history in Sichuan Province and advanced rice-planting experience of Sichuan residence has influenced the language in that plentiful and special rice-planting vocabulary was created in Sichuan Dialect. This paper collected the rice-planting Bashu-characterized words scattered in the various Bashu Chronicles and interprets their meaning and cultural connotations according to different classes so that the specifics and style of Sichuan rice-planting culture can be disclosed in a profound way.
