Tang and Song poetry and Grand Canal

隋炀帝下令开凿的"大运河"始终是唐宋时期连接经济中心与政治中心的交通大动脉,与当时各阶层人们的生活密切相关,在现实社会中发挥着难以估量的作用。这一时期又是中国诗词发展的高峰期,因此,这一时期的诗词创作中,必然会出现为数不少的反映、描写运河的作品,也必然会有因运河开凿与通航影响而产生的作品及文学现象。总体地看,运河开凿与通航对唐宋诗词创作的影响,主要体现在三个方面:首先,出现了不少反思、总结运河开凿、运行功过的作品;其次,出现了较多的描写、吟咏人们行进在运河上的感受与心绪的作品;再次,对诗词创作中的体式与表达产生过一定影响。

This period is the peak of the development of Chinese poetry, so poetry writing of this period, reflecting the large number of inevitable, describing the canal works, but also bound to have dug canals and navigable due to the impact of the works produced and literary phenomenon. The overall look, dug canals and navigable influence on the creation of the Tang and Song poetry, mainly reflected in three aspects： First, there has been a lot of reflection, summed up the canal dug to run the merits of works; Secondly, there are more description, chant people traveling on the canal life and work experience; once again, in the style of poetry writing and expression exerted some influence.
