Taking environmental information capacity building project of Tibet Autonomous Region Environmental Protection Bureau for instance, the design of environmental informationizationinfrastructure construction in western China was discussed. Based on the summary analysis of construction content and preliminary research, considering the weak information foundation, shortage of professional techniciansand capital investment, high demand of stability, and the rapid development of information technology, a plan of Tibet Autonomous Region fundamental information construction design wasproposed. It might provide experiences and references for the designof environmental informationizationinfrastructure construction in western regions.
