摘要
竹编是用山上毛竹剖劈成篾片或篾丝并编织成各种用具、工艺品的一种手工艺,竹编艺人俗称“簟匠”或称“篾作”。旧时由于竹编工艺应用广泛,簟匠师傅总是十分忙碌,一到农忙前夕总要打箩补簟,做谷筛、装晒谷耙等农业用具,平时挨家挨户还要编修竹椅、竹篮、淘米箩、金线篮、元宝篮、幢篮、竹眠床等生活用品，碰到造房子的还要编屋顶的竹簟。簟匠师傅虽然辛苦，但那时要比农民吃香，有收入。
Bamboo weaving is a time-honored handcraft art which splits bamboo into strips and then uses those strips to make tools and artworks. Since 1980s, with the development of modern agriculture and plastic industry, bamboo-weaved articles for daily use have been gradually replaced by plastic products. Nowadays, the development of bamboo weaving is moving in the direction of being delicate handcrafts.
