Modernization Theory on Family and the Contemporary Family in China: A Literature Review

来自于西方的家庭现代化理论在中国最近三十年的家庭研究中发挥重要作用,成为研究中国家庭变迁的基本范式和对话基础。中国家庭变迁在现代化进程中既具有一般性特征,同时也呈现出自己的独特性,传统力量对塑造中国家庭仍发挥着不可忽视的作用。观察和理解中国家庭变迁的实际过程对于丰富和完善家庭现代化理论有着积极的意义。

The modernization theory on family has been important for studies of the Chinese family.It has become the foundation theory of family research and the basis for dialogue in the recent 30 years. The process of Chinese family changing has showed some general characteristics with other nations, at the same time, still have its own particularities and diversities. The traditional family ethics of China continues to play an important role in the process of modernization. Observing and understanding the actural process of family change in China are helpful for the development and improvment of modernization theory on family.
