摘要
隐喻是一种认知工具,在语言学习中,理解目的语中隐喻映射的能力是非常重要的。通过培养隐喻能力促进词汇教学,即从认知语言学的角度出发,利用隐喻映射的工作机制,培养学生理解那些在英语词汇中看上去相去甚远的两个义项内在的联系的能力。实验证明,教师通过对学生隐喻能力的培养,能够有效提高他们的隐喻能力并能帮助他们有效地提升词汇水平。
As a way of cognition, conceptual metaphor is quite important in language acquisition. It is an important competence that a language leaner can identify and understand metaphor in the target language. Enlarging vocabulary by metaphorical competence can be realized by helping learners to relate two seemingly irrelative meanings together through the mechanism of conceptual metaphor. It is proved that learners can enhance their metaphorical competence and enlarging their vocabulary with the teacher's help in cultivating their metaphorical competence.
