《历阳典录补编》为清代学者陈廷桂纂辑的资料汇编类地方志书,其中囊括了大量关于和州的历史、地理、文学、人物等信息,对和州地方文献的保存有着不可磨灭的功绩。在《历阳典录补编》所收录的文献中,注明采自章学诚《和州志》的有34篇10 000余字。这些篇目里,有33篇为现行章学诚《和州志》所佚,其价值重要,对还原志书原貌和研究章学诚的方志学思想意义重大。

Liyang Chorography Complements, a local chronicle compiled by Chen Tinggui in the Qing dynasty, contains numerous accounts about history, geography, literature and celebrities of Hezhou. In the chronicle are included 34 papers by Chang Hsuch-ch＇eng with more than 10,000 words. Among them 33 pieces are the missing papers in his Hezhou Chorography. Thus, the Complements is of significant value to restoring this book and studying the book compiler＇s chronographic thoughts.
