Reporting of model figures is a vital form of reporting in the news propaganda of party newspapers. It had achieved a high historical significance during different eras of new China. This article reviewed on the developing, characteristic, defect, current state, and effectiveness of reporting of model figures, summarized the interviewing and writing of model figures, and offered some innovating ideas, in order to improve new-era party newspapers＇ reporting of model figures and to strengthen party newspapers＇ capability of influencing and guiding public opinion.
