This paper discusses the problems of using the computer in China＇s sci-tech information retrieval work at present and the ways for their solution, It raises some of the author＇s views and concepts on the organizational and functional structure of the national computer-based retrieval system for sci-tech information and makes an investigation into some of the problems that ought to be given due attention when we are planning and setting up such a system integrated with the concrete conditions of our country.
