本文旨在辨析作为Information译名的信息和情报之间的微妙差别，并试图通过划分Information概念的定义域和指明若干误解点，廓清Information的概念体系。揭示了中国和西方国家在Information观念上的重要差别，阐述了Information概念的多维、多层次特性。

This paper attempts to distinguish the subtle difference between Xinxi and Qingbao as counterparts of information, and to clarify the concept of information by dividing the whole range of its definition into different parts and by identifying several points of misunderstanding, Inevitably, the important disparity in information ideology of Chinese people and western people is exposed and the multidimensional properties of the concept of information are explicated.
