After the outbreak of the financial crisis in 2008,a series of new problems have emerged in the international community, which not only enriches the International Political Economy( IPE) research agenda, but also has a significant impact on the IPE research perspectives, paradigms, and approaches. The debate between the American School and British School sparked a profound reflection on the current situation and future development of IPE. Over the course of the debate, the diversity of theories has been cherished again and China-related issues have attracted increasing attention. More importantly, analytical eclecticism,a commensurable and more inclusive analytical paradigm, has been flourishing gradually. Meanwhile,IPE has expanded the range of its research agenda to have included topics such as the political sources of the financial crisis, the legitimacy of global governance, global imbalances, global financial governance and regulation, emerging economies and transition of the global order, etc. As a result,problem-driven research has been gaining ground and IPE is becoming a more inclusive discipline.
