摘要
新批评理论强调要立足于文学文本进行语义分析,该理论将诗歌的语言艺术推到至高地位,诗歌所彰显的语言艺术美得到了极力张扬。尽管新批评主义没有否定小说的文学性,但却否定了小说语言的艺术性。戴维·洛奇不仅坚持以语言作为文学批评的基础,而且还立足于文本进行全面的小说研究。本文从新批评理论视角出发,对戴维·洛奇的语言艺术加以理论和实践探讨,通过整体观、对话性、后现代性及反讽戏剧性四个层面的分析,指出,戴维·洛奇的文学理论研究和文学创作实践是交叉进行的,他独特的文学批评理论形成于广泛的文学批评实践中,他的文学批评理论不仅有深厚的理论研究做基础,而且以丰富的个体批评实践作依托,同时还有丰富的小说创作实践作印证。他的文学作品是一种理论和实践、感知认识和理性认知高度结合的产物。
New Criticism Theory, stressing on the semantic analysis in basis of the literary text, has pushed the language art of poetry to a supreme position, and the beauty of poetry language was widely and extremely emphasized. Although the New Criticism doesn' t deny the literariness of the novel, it denies the art of novel language. David Lodge,however, not only did he insist on taking the language as the basis for literary criticism, but also has made a comprehensive language study on novels by close reading. From the perspective of New Criticism Theory, this paper discusses the language art of David Lodge theoretically and practically through the analysis of four aspects:the whole view, the dialogism, the post-modernity and the irony of drama, pointing out that the literary theory research and literary innovation practice of David Lodge are intercrossed. The literary theory of David Lodge, formed in the wide practice of literary criticism, not only based on the deep theory research but also depen- ded on the rich individual criticism practice, verifying the with the rich novel innovation practice. David Lodge' s literary work is an outcome highly integrated with theory, practice, perception and rational knowledge.
