英语社论中互动元话语之功能与句法分析模式探究

The Study on Functional-syntactic Approach in Interactional Metadiscourse in English Editorials

区分基本话语与元话语的关键是确定话语材料是否带有命题意义,传统的功能分析模式并不能对此做出充分解释。笔者提出了功能与句法相结合的分析模式,并将该模式应用于英语社论中互动元话语的分析。研究结果表明,功能与句法相结合的分析模式能够有效判断话语是否具有命题意义,为互动元话语的分析提供了新途径。

The key to the distinction between primary discourse and metadiscourse is whether the material has the propositional meaning. The traditionally functional approach can＇t explain this sufficiently. This paper proposes one functional-syntactical approach and applies this approach to the analysis of interactional metadiscourse in English editorials. The research findings show that the functional-syntactical approach can judge the propositional meaning of material effectively so that a new way of analyzing interactional metadiscourse can be provided.
