On David Lodge's The Art of Fiction Critical Theory

1991到1992年期间,洛奇在《星期日独立报》上发表了50篇短文,并于1992年结集出版,取名为《小说的艺术》(The Art of Fiction)。本文试图通过对《小说的艺术》的解读,来了解英国批评家戴维·洛奇分析小说文本时所采用的批评方法,并探讨文学史知识对文学创作的潜在影响,以及批评理论与创作实践的关系等问题,以欣赏这部独特的小说诗学。

From 1991-1992 ,David Lodge wrote 50 articles about prose fiction for a weekly column of The Independent on Sunday ,which were collected and published in 1992 ,entitled The Art of Fiction. This paper tries to interpret The Art of Fiction and learn the eritieal method adopted by David Lodge when he analyses the fictional texts, and simultaneously, discusses the potential influence of the history of literature on literary creation as well as the relationship between critical theory and creative practice to enhance the understanding of this distinct fiction poetics.
