摘要
在全球化日益凸显、社会阶层结构发生变化的时代,国内外研究者对不同阶层学习者的英语学习动机状况和差异性研究却严重不足。本研究通过问卷调查,辅以访谈的方法,对来自北京、沈阳、南京和盐城4个城市的1 542名初二年级学生的7种英语学习动机的阶层差异进行了探索性研究。结果发现,在出国动机、内在兴趣动机和个人发展动机方面存在高低阶层之间的显著差异。本研究认为,教师在教学中应更多关注中下层学生的英语学习,帮助他们形成多元的学习动机。
In this globalized context and the era where social classes are mobilizing,less attention has been given to the studies on differences of English motivations across different social classes. This current made quantifiable analysis complemented with interview on seven types of English learning motivations of 1542 Grade 8 junior high school students from Beijing, Shenyang, Nanjing and Yancheng. The final results displayed significant differences between students UPPER classes and LOWER classes with regard to motivation of going abroad, motivation for individual development and intrinsic motivation. Based on the findings, the study proposed that English teachers should place more attention on English learning of students from lower classes and help them to form multiple learning motivations.
