摘要
美国康奈尔大学的新生写作课程(FWS)是一个以英语系为主要力量、其他院系共同参与的课程体系。其写作训练与专业学科学习有机结合,因而在课程设置上呈现出独具特色的丰富性与多样性。在通识教育背景下,大学语文应回归自己的学科职责,训练与培育学生的母语读写能力。借鉴康奈尔大学富有成效的FWS课程设计,发展学术型的"学科写作"课程,可以成为大学语文改革的新目标。
Cornell's Freshmen Writing Seminar ( FWS} is an interdisciplinary program. Though English Department plays a major role in the program, it is a cooperation of various departments in the university. It is the combination of writing training and professional studies. The important features of the Program are its rich and varied. In terms of the liberal arts education, the teaching of the College Chinese ought to be more re- sponsible for training students for a better reading and writing. The Success of Cornell's FWS provides the val- uable experience for the design of "Academic writing program" at Chinese university.
