Cultivating and Practicing the Core Values of Socialism——The Enlightenment of the New Character Movement in the USA

在当今社会文化多元化的背景下,加强对大学生进行社会主义核心价值观的教育,以其统领大学生日趋多元的价值观就显得尤为重要。高校思想政治教育的一项重要任务就是把社会主义核心价值观内化为学生个体的价值观。美国20世纪80年代掀起的新品格教育运动的实践在教学手段、教学资源、社会保障等方面给我们提供了一些借鉴和启示。我们应当注意探索新的教学方法、整合教学资源、注重道德实践,对大学生进行社会主义核心价值观教育。

In the background of today’s social and cultural diversity ,it is particularly important to strengthen the college education of socialist core values and for core values of socialism to guide college students’ increasingly pluralistic values .An important task of ideological and political ed-ucation is to internalize the socialist core values into the values of individual student .The practice of the New Character Education Movement in the USA in the 1980s offers us some reference and enlightenment in teaching methods ,teaching resources ,social security and so on .We should pay attention to exploring new teaching methods and integrating teaching resources ,and focus on ethi-cal practice and the education of socialist core values for college students .
